Benefícios do método mãe canguru em recém-nascidos pré-termo ou baixo peso: uma revisão da literatura

Abstract

O objetivo deste estudo foi verificar na literatura as vantagens e benefícios da aplicação da assistência humanizada a recém-nascidos pré-termo de baixo peso (RNPT/BP), o Método Mãe Canguru (MMC). Realizou-se revisão integrativa da literatura, por meio das bases de dados da Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde e artigos/textos completos no mês de março de 2015. Utilizaram-se os descritores: “Método Canguru”, “Recém-nascido” e “assistência perinatal”, no idioma português. Foram encontrados 294 artigos e selecionados 21. O MMC é dividido em três etapas, promovendo a humanização da assistência, acolhendo a família, promovendo o vínculo e aleitamento materno, com inúmeras vantagens e benefícios aos RNPT/BP, além de redução nos custos, comparado com a da UTIN, com importante economia no SUS. Lembrando que o MMC não substitui as incubadoras e as tecnologias, mas completa a humanização na assistência, acenada como uma “metodologia salvadora de baixo custo”
