Incentive spirometry is a technique widely used by physiotherapy professionals whose objective is to favor a better performance of the respiratory condition, providing a better functional and pulmonary capacity. In this way, volume (Voldyne) and flow (Respiron) spirometers can be used. Objective: To compare the effects of incentive spirometry - volume and flow - on lung function, respiratory muscle strength and thoracoabdominal mobility in healthy individuals. Methods: A quasi-experimental study was performed consisting of 12 healthy individuals (9 of the female gender and 3 of the male gender) between 20 and 29 years of age randomly assigned to Voldyne Group (n = 6) and Respiron Group (n=6), the following pre-intervention and post-intervention parameters were evaluated: Maximum inspiratory pressure (MIP), Maximum expiratory pressure (MEP), Minute volume (MV), Respiratory rate (RR) and Thoracic expansion. Ten sessions were performed twice a week in the period between August and October 2017. Results: In all were 76% women and 24% men. There was a significant increase in MEP in individuals who used Voldyne. The cirtometry did not show differences after the use of any of the incentives. In the other variables, MIP, RR and MV both groups improved. Conclusion: The spirometry of volume incentive was highlighted in the variables MV, RR and MEP when compared to the spirometry of incentive to flowpt_BR
