Um olhar semântico sobre o conto um almoço, de Machado de Assis

Abstract

Este trabalho trata do conto Um almoço, de Machado de Assis, cujo enfoque é o dado pelo Realismo. Empregando a Semântica Discursiva como base para a análise e para o estudo do texto, pretende-se, neste trabalho, mostrar a força e a riqueza da significação das palavras e das frases e suas relações dentro do texto. A ironia, que aparece neste conto com uma das figuras fundamentais na construção semântica do texto, é o tema deste estudo e é tratada levando-se em conta o quadro histórico e social em que foi escrito o conto; a linguagem, o sujeito e as formações discursivas dos personagens, tudo isso é considerado para a elaboração deste trabalho. Como ponto de investigação procura-se delimitar, numa leitura mais atenta, as marcas lingüísticas da ironia presentes no texto e a possibilidade de uma leitura pautada nessas marcas e no conceito de ironia. A narrativa de Machado de Assis traduz um conhecimento da alma humana, o que é estudado neste conto, tomando, para tanto, além das marcas lingüísticas, palavras e expressões, a composição textual como um todo. O entendimento dado ao texto foi o alcançado com os recursos disponíveis: leitura, pesquisa, compreensão e interpretação do conto lido.

This work is about Machado de Assis short story “A lunch” whose focal point is the realism. It was also used to accomplish this work the Discursive Semantic as basis for the analysis and text study. The aim of this work is to present the power and the richness of the words and sentence’s significance and their relation throughout the text. The irony, which appears in this story as the main figure of the semantic construction, is the theme of this study and it is observed considering the historic and social scenario in which this story was written: the language, the subject and the discursive building of the characters, all was considering for the elaboration of this work. As an investigation point it was sought to delimitate, in a more attentive reading, the linguistic irony marks presented in the text as well as the possibility of a more focused reading in those marks and irony concept. Machado de Assis narrative translates a deep knowledge of the human soul, which was studied in his story, besides the linguistics marks, words, expressions and the textual composition taking as whole. The understanding gave to the text was reached with the available resources, reading, research, comprehension and interpretation of the story.
