| pt_BR |

dc.description.notas | Negative parenting practices (inconsistent punishment, neglect, physical abuse, stressful monitoring, relaxed discipline) and positive parenting practices (positive monitoring and moral behavior) were addressed for a study with parents inserted in a hospital context. This study aims to verify these practices, if they were adopted by parents and mothers assisted in the emergency room of the Maternal and Child Hospital of Brasília. It describes the occurrence of the parents' reflective or punitive dialogue with the children and analyzes the rules established by the parents, how they are made and thought, their flexibility and consequences for their non-compliance. The study was carried out with ten parents from a semi-structured interview composed of 21 questions based on the parental practices of Gomide (2014). The data collected resulted in the structuring of five categories: positive monitoring, use of spanking, clarification of rules, variation of parental mood, time-out (punishment). The parents interviewed used punitive dialogue with their children, physical punishment and punishment as a consequence of non-compliance with established rules. However, all parents used positive monitoring. | pt_BR |
