Abstract
A barreira hematoencefálica é uma estrutura endotelial altamente especializada que, em
conjunto com pericitos, astrócitos e micróglia, separa parcialmente os componentes do
sangue dos neurônios. Já o sistema linfático possui uma grande importância na resposta
imunitária da periferia. Por acreditar que o sistema nervoso central (SNC) fosse
desprovido desses vasos, muitas inquietações a respeito de sua imunologia existem.
Desse modo, o presente trabalho tem como objetivo apresentar o que se conhece sobre a
resposta imunológica do SNC, a descoberta de vasos linfáticos no SNC e a interação
entre eles. Trata-se de uma pesquisa de revisão bibliográfica do tipo narrativa ou
tradicional. A partir da literatura estudada pôde-se concluir que a falta de drenagem
eficiente e a infiltração exacerbada de leucócitos no SNC estão associadas a doenças
neurodegenerativas e, que os vasos linfáticos meníngeos podem ser a via dessas
desordens
The blood brain barrier is a highly specialized endothelium structure which, together with pericytes, astrocytes and microglia, partially separated blood components of the neurons. On the other hand the lymphatic system has a great importance in the immune response in the periphery. Believing that the central nervous system (CNS) were devoid of lymphatics vessels, many concerns regarding its immunology exists. Therefore, the aim of this study was to present what is known about the immune response in the CNS, the discovery of lymphatic vessels in the CNS and the interaction between them. This is a literature review of research of narrative or traditional type. From the literature studied it was concluded that the lack of efficient drainage and exaggerated leukocyte infiltration in the CNS are associated with neurodegenerative diseases and the meningeal lymphatics vessels can be envolved in these disorders.
